- Walk along the Kemijoki or Ounasjoki Rivers and explore nearby forests.
- Visit Ranua Wildlife Park* to see polar bears, lynxes, and other arctic animals.
- Experience a husky or reindeer safari.*
- Feed and pet a reindeer.
- Try Finnish licorice and chocolate.
- Drive a snowmobile.*
- Make a snow angel.
- Take a city walk to see landmarks like Lordi’s Square and ‘Jätkänkynttilä’ Bridge.
- Capture winter landscapes (and the Northern Lights) in photographs.
- Go ice skating at outdoor rinks around the city.
- Explore the winter landscapes on hiking adventure.
- Visit SantaPark, the underground theme park.
- Relax at local cafes like Cafe & Bar 21 or Choco Deli and enjoy traditional Finnish pastries and coffee.
- Enjoy a traditional Finnish sauna experience and take a dip in an ice-cold lake or in the snow.
- Have drinks at a themed ice bar, where everything from the walls to the furniture is made entirely of ice and snow.
- Try ice fishing on a frozen lake.*
- Gather some friends or family for snowball fight.
- Taste the traditional Finnish drink, Glögi (warm berry juice).
